Our high school Confirmation Preparation program seeks to fully prepare high school aged candidates for the Sacrament of Confirmation. In the modern tradition of the Church in America, Catholics that are baptized as infants are led to complete the full initiation into the Church during the high school years. Specifically Bishop Vasquez of the
Diocese of Austin has asked us to focus on students in the
10th grade to receive Confirmation.
The Confirmation Preparation program is set up in a way to dive deeper into the treasury of knowledge that the Church guards, and also to adequately prepare candidates to live as confirmed Catholics in the world. They are encouraged to ask questions, and discuss answers so that when those questions are asked outside of the church, they are able to answer with clarity and courage as the Spirit has promised. We also get to discuss unique topics such as patron saints, sponsors, and sacramental rites. It is an exciting time as a young Catholic to see our liturgy and faith so up close and personal.
